About the Organization
Boys & Girls Clubs of America supports a network of local clubs that give young people a safe place to spend time and build skills. Programs focus on academic success, healthy lifestyles, and character, and some clubs serve military families and Native communities. The national organization describes its purpose simply: do whatever it takes so kids have a great future.
Club staff and volunteers provide homework help, mentoring, and activities after school and during the summer. Youth of the Year and similar programs highlight young leaders while local clubs stay rooted in their own neighborhoods.
