Charity Navigator

Charity Navigator is an independent nonprofit that evaluates other charities so donors can compare them before they give. It describes itself as a large, widely used evaluator and says it rates more than 200,000 charities. Ratings and related information are meant to make a crowded nonprofit field easier to understand.

The organization does not itself run food, health, or disaster programs. Its role is informational: publish assessments that help people decide where support is likely to be used well, and explain how those ratings are built.
