Code for America

Code for America is a nonpartisan nonprofit that uses technology and policy to help government services work better for the people who need them. It began with fellowships that placed technical talent inside local governments, and it now works on issues such as the social safety net, tax benefits, and criminal justice, including how public agencies use artificial intelligence.

The organization describes itself as proving that government can work for people in the digital age. Staff and partners design services that are easier to use, especially for residents who are most often left out of complicated public systems.
