DonorsChoose

DonorsChoose is an online charity that lets people fund specific classroom projects posted by public school teachers. A donor can choose a request for books, supplies, or a learning experience and give directly to that classroom rather than to a general education fund. Teachers request what their students need, and the site is built to make that request easy to understand.

The organization also works with companies and foundations that want a direct route to students and teachers. Its purpose is to shrink the gap between what a classroom is asked to do and the materials it actually has.
