Global hunger and food aid
About the Organization
The World Food Programme provides food assistance in emergencies and uses food to support recovery after conflict, disaster, and climate shocks. It describes its role as saving lives when crisis hits and then helping people move toward stability. Work includes relief distributions and programs meant to strengthen food security over time.
WFP partners with governments and other organizations and publishes analysis of hunger alongside its operations. The public purpose is both immediate meals and a path out of repeated crisis.
